Best Eco-Friendly School Award by Times of India

Saffron_Public_School has been awarded as “Best Eco-Friendly” school by “The_Times_of_India”. “Times of India” has organized an “Indian_School_Awards” ceremony in which more than 300 schools were nominated. Saffron is the only school in Phagwara who won the “Best Eco_Friendly School” award and delivered the message of environment protection to whole Phagwara. Now a days, there is a great threat of Global Warming all over the world, Saffron is an epitome of eco-friendly environment. Saffron has always motivated the students to keep environment safe and healthy by planting more and more trees. Under “Tree_Plantation’ campaign, Saffron has planted more than 10,000 plants to stay on the motive “GO_GREEN”. Moreover recycling of papers and “best use of papers” have also been taught in the school 
Saffron is also associated with “Nanhi_Chaan” and “Smile_foundation” to promote “Save_environment”. 
Many medicinal plants has also been planted in schools Botanical Garden to explain the importance of these plants. Environment related activities are also adapted to promote “Save Environment” campaign by Environmental Club of the school. 
Principal Dr. Sandeepa Sood congratulated all Saffronians for winning this precious award. She has shown her gratitude towards Chairman Mr. Manmohan Singh and Vice-Chairperson, Mrs. Inderjit Kaur for motivating the students of Saffron for participating in such type of activities. She has also promised to promote various campaigns regarding environment and will indulge in such type of activities related to social programme in future.
